Case History 2018 child neglect
We investigated a mother addicted to meth living with her two children in an apartment complex in Mesa. The last few times the clients' children were dropped off for visitation they were dirty and hungry. Through our investigation we found the apartment where they were living and did an undercover wellness check. We found an eviction notice posted for the following week, no lights on in the apartment, and what appeared to be many people. A group of children from that apartment were outside playing and complaining of being hungry and there being no food in the refrigerator. We found the electricity and water had been of for days. Mesa PD was called with the father's permission for a wellness check of his two children. They found eight adults and 13 children living in this two-bedroom apartment. Drug paraphernalia all about. In the refrigerator they found two pieces of 1/2 eaten pizza, empty milk carton, lots of beer, and mustard in the refrigerator. The father filed an emergency action and got temporary custody of his two- and four-year-old.

It also puts them at a greater risk of overdose because the amount of the key drug elements and unapproved fillers are not regulated or in even amounts in each pill, powder, or liquid.
