We know from over 20 years' experience that a team approach to investigations is better than a single investigator working all aspects of a complex case alone, start to finish.
The team leader is "your case director". They are your point of contact for updates and case decisions, they direct the investigation, may work parts of it, assign and manage the team investigators on your case, and the final report.
All investigators at Discovery are highly trained, have investigative work experience, and are proficient at all general aspects of investigation.
Individual investigators additionally come from diverse backgrounds that include past work experience, education, and life experience that lend them to specialize and excel in different disciplines of investigations.
Team investigators are assigned to cases or portions of a case, based on their capabilities and special expertise.

- A contract is sent by Adobe sign. No case is worked without a contract.
- An invoice is sent by e-mail where you can click and pay if you have not pre-paid a minimum retainer through our shopping cart.
- Your case director is your point of contact during the investigation process and orchestrates the investigation A-Z. They may work the case themselves, or on complex cases, in combination with team investigators they assign. They will keep you updated on progress and any unexpected problems that may come up.
- Weekly team meetings are held regarding your case progress. This is where we make sure all team members are on track and accountable with your case. We may also tweak your case plan to overcome unforeseen difficulties or to adjust to new case goals.
- Documentation of evidence is the proof that backs up your case and report. Evidence is secured and documented by chain of custody. For your report it is given in the format it is in. Public records, digital media photos, video, physical evidence...
- Reporting of your case findings are given in a format agreed upon for your type of case. On simple matters that may be an e-mail and verbal report. On more complex matters formal written reports are done with documentation attached. If a case is going to court, we confer with the case attorney as to how they want the report done, and in what format. Formal, Affidavit, Declaration.
Some cases are done in one day, others take months, or even years. You will not be left in the dark on how your case is progressing. Case directors will give you regular updates, but any time you want to contact your case director, please call. If they are not available, you can set up a time to speak to them or they will call you back when available. Usually the same day.

Dana Young, Detective, CI
Has led our teams at Discovery Detective Group for over 20 years and is the public face of our group.
As an industry leader she is involved in legislation both local and nationally and is on several boards and committees.
Through her career she has worked on, and case directed our team in many high-profile cases involving celebrities, notorious individuals, political candidates, and crime rings including 911 terrorists.
She loves investigations and working the puzzles of complex cases.
Her great grandfather was the one of the first detectives at the Hollywood Police Station and one of the last cases he was
involved in before retiring was the Black Dahlia.
